Programme
Shop Front Grants
The Council is supporting businesses and property owners to improve shopfronts across Rugby town centre.
Well-maintained shopfronts can make a real difference to how streets look and feel. They help create a more welcoming environment, support footfall and give businesses greater confidence.
The Town Centre Frontages Grant Scheme is helping refresh the appearance of occupied and vacant premises, particularly in areas where improvements can have the biggest impact.
The scheme is being rolled out in phases, starting in priority locations such as Sheep Street and High Street, with plans to open it up to the wider town centre in 2027. So far, nine businesses have received grants to improve their shopfronts.
Improvements could include work to signage, windows, doors, decoration or other visible parts of a commercial frontage, depending on the needs of each property.
This work sits alongside public space improvements, High Street Rental Auctions and longer-term plans for key town centre sites. Together, these projects are intended to improve the appearance and vitality of the town centre.
The Council will continue to work with businesses and property owners as the scheme develops.
